Level 3 Award in Education and Training AET formerly known as PTLLS Course is designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach adult in any specialty subject area. This course is suitable for someone who wants to work as a teacher/trainer/tutor in further education. WRTUK are pleased to offer Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) qualification via Distance Learning / Online or virtual Classroom Based. This Level 3 AET is a direct replacement qualification of Level 3/4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) course sometimes also referred to colloquially as “PETALS” since 2011.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) Course is an initial teacher training qualification, is also a Quality Credit Frameworks (QCF) qualification. This course is best suits for those who are new to teaching, or wishing to start out a teacher / trainer or currently teaching in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Level 3 Award in Education and Training AET /PTLLS is designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach any adult people in any subject area and certifying people to teach at a nationally accredited standard.

  • Demonstrate in planning, delivery and evaluation a regard for equal opportunities and health and safety legislation
  • Adopt a systematic approach to planning learning sessions by reference to a variety of methods, and to develop innovation in their teaching/training
  • Design, make and use a range of teaching and learning materials, using their own creative and information technology skills
  • Apply communication skills in teaching and training
  • Design and apply appropriate means of assessing their own learners
